The LT4180 solves the problem of providing tight load regulation on long, high resistance cables without the need for an additional pair of remote sensing wires. The Virtual Remote Sensing  device constantly questions the line impedance and corrects the power output voltage through its feedback loop to maintain a stable voltage at load, regardless of current changes. The LT4180 comes in a 24-pin SSOP package.

     The LT4180 is a full-featured controller with 5mA optical isolator sink capability, under/ overvoltage locking, soft start and ±1% internal reference voltage. The virtual remote sensing feature set includes user programmable jitter frequency and optional spread spectrum jitter. The LT4180 is suitable for any topology and type of isolated or unisolated power supply, including DC/DC converters and adjustable linear voltage regulators.
