EnglishON Semiconductor expands its high-performance, low-noise XGS family of image sensors, which deliver 12-bit image quality at high frame rates. The new products include the XGS 45000, XGS 30000, and XGS 20000, providing imaging detail of up to 45 megapixels for resolution demanding applications and 60 frames per second (fps) rates in 8K video mode. In addition, the new XGS 5000 is designed with low-power performance and state-of-the-art image quality for compact 29 x 29 mm2 camera designs. In addition to the XGS 5000, Anson Semiconductor 3 - and 2-megapixel variants have also been released for production.
All XGS devices feature a 3.2µm pixel size to provide high resolution, while advanced pixel design ensures low noise performance and image quality, which is critical for challenging Internet of Things (IoT) applications such as machine vision and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). The global shutter ensures that there are no motion artifacts when photographing moving objects. To simplify and speed time to market, the XGS device provides a common architecture that makes it easy to develop multiple resolutions for a single camera design.
The ease of use and image quality of the XGS series are proven and a number of leading manufacturers have successfully integrated the technology into their designs. Teledyne Imaging, one of the global leaders in digital imaging technology, recently announced the launch of its new GenieTM Nano-5G M/C8100 area scan camera, which is based on the XGS 45000 design.

JAI A/S, one of the leading suppliers of camera solutions for traffic imaging/vehicle identification in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), has integrated the XGS 45000 into its new 45 megapixel industrial camera. The SP-45000M-CXP4 offers a market-leading 44.7 megapixel black and white resolution of 52 frames per second, and supports full 8K resolution of over 60 frames per second.
