At CES® in Las Vegas, Nevada, Bosch Sensortec demonstrated yet another breakthrough breakthrough with the launch of its new BMP585 air pressure sensor. The BMP585 is a robust and reliable barosensor for underwater and harsh environments, such as a wearable for swimming.

     The BMP585 comes with a liquid repellent gel cover for wearable devices exposed to water or other liquids, covering saltwater and chlorinated pool water in swimming pools. It incorporates all the features of Bosch's existing BMP581 pressure sensors, providing the best in class accuracy and the superior robustness required to implement new use cases. Its power consumption is extremely low, helping to extend battery life for wearables, ear wearables and portable applications.

BMP585 is also resistant to water and chemicals, making it ideal for many industrial applications such as liquid level detection. Its sealing design can also prevent dust intrusion, so it is also suitable for the realization of plugging detection in household appliances such as vacuum cleaners.
