The TDK's 600 W to 800 W power supply features BF type medical isolation and extremely low noise

     TDK-Lambda's MU4 Series 1U High power supply features extremely low noise and BF type medical isolation. The MU4 offers 600 W with 85 VAC to 264 VAC inputs (derated below 90 VAC) and 800 W with 180 VAC to 264 VAC inputs. Up to five fully isolated output modules can be easily configured using an online configurator. Targeted applications include medical, dental, broadcasting, professional audio, test and measurement, and industrial equipment requiring heights as low as 41 mm and/or low audible noise.


     The patented Intelligent fan speed control circuit uses a microcontroller algorithm to monitor the temperature of the primary converter and each individual secondary module. This allows the fan speed to be accurately adjusted and optimized to provide audible noise as low as 36 dBA, even at 80% load. Low noise levels increase patient comfort and reduce operator fatigue.


     Initially offered with nine rated output modules ranging from 150 W to 400 W, continuous coverage ranges from 3.3V to 104 VDC. Each module is standard with remote on/off, remote sensing and good output signal. Options for MU4 include 5 V/2 A standby voltage, fan failure signals, suppression and enablement of all outputs, AC failure, PMBus® communication, and shunt requiring parallel operation configuration.


     The product is up to 90% efficient and can operate in ambient temperatures from -20°C to +70°C, with linear derating to 50% load above +50°C. The ground drain current is less than 300µA (including all tolerance), and the contact current is less than 100µA. The compact size is 89 mm x 41 mm x 257.5 mm or 3.5 "x 1.61" x 10.1 "(W x H x D).
