EnglishVishay's AEC-Q102-compliant VOA300 linear optical coupler provides linear voltage transmission across isolation grids. It provides 1.4 MHz data transfer instead of the 200 kHz provided by the isolation amplifier, which makes the response time of the battery management system faster. It provides an isolation voltage of 5,300 VRMS.
The feedback photodiode of VOA300 captures a certain percentage of the LED luminous flux and generates a control signal used to regulate the LED driving current, while the output PIN photodiode generates an output signal linearly related to the luminous flux produced by the LED. The time and temperature stability of the input/output coupler is ensured by the use of matching PIN photodiodes that accurately track the output flux of the LED. The single ended output of the VOA300 can be connected directly to the amplifier stage or to the ADC.
