Toshiba Electronics Components and Memory Devices Inc. introduced the 4-channel transistor output photocoupler TLP294-4 and TLP295-4, which standardized the input threshold voltage for leds and came in SO16 packaging.TLP294-4 is an AC input type, and TLP295-4 is a DC input type. Compared to Toshiba's current transistor coupler , these two products integrate a discharge resistor for storing charge on the transistor base, so the propagation delay time is shorter.

     While existing transistor couplers have been used for applications with communication speeds up to around 10kbps, the new product supports 10kbps to 20kbps and is therefore suitable for FA devices such as programmable logic controllers and inverters as well as insulated communication interface applications. This 4-channel product can be installed in high density.

     In terms of insulation performance, the minimum creepage distance of such products is 5mm, the minimum isolation voltage is 3.75kVrms, and has passed the international safety standards such as UL1577, EN 60747-5-5 certification. Therefore, they are also suitable for applications with high insulation performance requirements.
