Vishay Intertechnology announced, Launched six new 3.4mm x 3.4mm surface-mounted 850 nm and 940 nm high-power infrared (IR) transmitters VSMA1085250, VSMA1085400, VSMA1085600, VSMA1094250, VSMA1094400 and VSMA1094600, the irradiation intensity reaches the advanced level of similar devices, further expand its photoelectric product portfolio. The new Vishay semiconductor devices feature Vishay's SurfLight surface transmitter chip technology with drive currents up to 1.5A DC and pulse currents up to 5A for industrial and consumer electronics applications.
The infrared transmitter released uses a dual-layer chip and has a luminous intensity of up to 6000 mW/sr under 5A pulse current, which is 30% higher than the previous generation solution and 10% higher than the next competitor device, thus extending the irradiation distance while minimizing the number of devices, reducing costs and saving space. To further save space, the size of the launcher is reduced by 20% compared to competing and previous generation solutions.
Infrared transmitters are suitable for game eye tracking as well as CCTV, machine vision, toll collection systems, license plate recognition and general infrared lighting night vision. For these applications, the device enhances irradiation intensity with three semi-intensifiers of ± 28°, ± 40°, and ± 60°, ambient temperatures of -40 °C to +125 °C, and thermal resistance as low as 6K/W to 9K/W.
The launcher complies with RoHS and Vishay Green standards, is halogen-free, and supports lead-free (Pb) reflow soldering processes. The device's ESD immunity is up to 5 kV, meets ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC® JS-001 standard, has a storage life of 168 hours, and is damp sensitive to J-STD-020E Level 3.
