XP Power launches a new 60W ultra-thin AC-DC power supply that can be used in a variety of cost-sensitive applications, including information technology devices, industrial electronics, home, Internet of Things (IoT) and robotics. In order to further penetrate the market and expand sales, manufacturers in cost-sensitive applications are constantly seeking high-quality, easy-to-use power solutions at attractive prices, and the new VCB60 series meets this need.
The product operates in the 90-305VAC voltage range and is suitable for 4-wire 480VAC three-phase (277VAC nominal) or single-phase (110/230VAC nominal) systems in plant or roadside equipment operation worldwide. The series has eight optional modules that adjust the output voltage from 5.0VDC to 54.0VDC and power levels up to 60W. This convection-cooled product does not require forced air and ensures silent operation, a common requirement in noise-sensitive audio/video (AV) applications and office or home environments.
OVC III (Overvoltage Class III) certification means that the VCB60 series can be used for building wiring upstream of wall sockets requiring safety certification products. This certification eliminates any need for additional filtering and safety certification, thereby saving space, time and cost.
The VCB60 series meets a number of certifications, including EMC EN55024, EN55035 and EN61000-4 for immunity, and EMC radiation EN55032, EN55014 and EN61000-3. Safety certification includes IEC60950, IEC62368 and IEC60355. Extensive certification ensures that the unit can be safely used in a wide range of ITE, industrial and domestic applications, while ensuring that it meets noise requirements without external filtration.
The product has an efficiency of 90%, ensuring that waste heat is minimized. This reduces thermal management requirements as well as operating temperatures, thereby improving overall system reliability. Various protection mechanisms are incorporated, including short circuit, overvoltage and overload protection.
