STMicroelectronics STEVAL-PLC001V1 evaluation board is designed for compact PLC factory automation applications. It includes a PLC control unit with digital input and output modules and various connection and interface options. With the TouchGFX graphics engine and STSW-PLC001 software, the PCB-mounted 3.5" TFT touch screen provides excellent HMI interaction opportunities, Allows users to experience a variety of ST IC's advanced features and utilize off-the-shelf examples, including ladder logic demonstrations and other projects.
The system uses STM32F746ZGT7 MCU to handle industrial IO and TouchGFX displays, implementing ladder logic programming code and several additional options. An eight-channel CLT01-38SQ7 and two two-channel CLT03-2Q3 provide a total of 12 industrial inputs. CLT01-38SQ7 has a 6.25 MHz SPI (serial peripheral interface) with Daisy chain functionality and reverse polarity. The CLT03-2Q3 features two separate high-voltage and low-voltage side compatible channels, is powered by external sensors in its interface, and is capable of operating in the 60 V range for fail-safe applications.
Twelve industrial outputs are processed by eight-channel ISO8200AQ and four-channel low-voltage side IPS4260L. The ISO8200AQ offers Daisy chain SPI and recessed current insulation up to 4 kV, which means optical couplers are no longer needed. ST morpho connectors allow other expansion boards to be connected for additional functionality, and USB connectors provide alternative power options if a 24 V power supply is not available.
