Texas Instruments' adjustable voltage regulators have power good features and are designed to power normally on components in standby systems

Texas Instruments TPS7B86-Q1 is a low-voltage differential (LDO) linear voltage regulator designed to connect to batteries for automotive applications. The input voltage range of the device is extended to 40 V, which allows the device to withstand expected transients (such as load drops) of the vehicle system. With a static current of 17 µA at light load, this regulator is the best solution for powering normally open components such as microcontroller (MCU) and controller LAN (CAN) transceivers in standby systems.

The TPS7B86-Q1 has the most advanced transient response, allowing the output to respond quickly to load or line changes (for example, under cold starting conditions). In addition, the device has a novel architecture that minimizes output overshoot when recovering from a voltage drop. During normal operation, the device has strict ±0.85% DC accuracy for overvoltage, overload, and overtemperature.

The power good latency can be adjusted by external components so that the latency time can be configured to suit the specific application system. The TPS7B86-Q1 uses a thermally conductive package that allows device components to effectively transfer heat to the circuit board.
