STMicroelectronics LPS28DFW is an ultra-compact piezoresistive absolute pressure sensor that can be used as a digital output barometer. The device comprises a sensing element and an IC interface, and communicates with the application through I²C, MIPI I3CSM, or SPI. Lower power consumption and pressure noise than previous versions.

     The LPS28DFW comes in a ceramic LGA package with a metal cover. The device is guaranteed to operate in the extended temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. The package has openings to allow external pressure to reach the sensing element. Gels within the IC protect electrical components from water, and metal caps are optionally grounded or keep electrical floating in the application PCB layout. The connection mode of the metal cap depends on the target application of the customer.
