NXP's P3A9606JK automatic directional sensing enables bidirectional voltage level conversion for traditional I2C bus /SMBus applications
0
The P3A9606JK is a 2-bit dual power conversion transceiver with automatic direction sensing for bidirectional voltage level conversion for conventional i2c bus /SMBus applications, 12.5 MHz i3c bus applications, and higher speed SPI applications with two devices. It has two 1-bit input/output ports (An and Bn), an output enable input (OE), and two power pins (VCCA and VCCB). The VCCA can be supplied at any voltage between 0.72 V and 1.98 V, and the VCCB can be supplied at any voltage between 0.72 V and 1.98 V, making the device suitable for conversion between any low voltage node (0.8V, 1.2V and 1.8V), VCCA must be ≤VCCB to ensure normal operation.

The P3A9606JK is available for both leak-opening and push-pull applications, allowing level switching applications using the I3C, I2C and SPI protocols. Pin An references VCCA and pin Bn references VCCB. The active HIGH OE pin references the VCCA and is controlled by a signal in the VCCA or VCCB domain. The LOW level of pin OE causes the output to be in a high impedance off state. This device is fully designated for partial power off applications that use IOFF. The IOFF circuit disables the output, preventing destructive backflow current from passing through the device when it is powered off.
