Vishay introduces automotive grade IHSR high temperature inductors for multiphase power filtering

     Vishay Intertechnology has announced the introduction of its new IHSR high temperature inductor, IHSR-2525CZ-5A, in 7.4mm x 6.6mm x 3.0mm 2525 dimensions, in compliance with the AEC-Q200 standard. Vishay Dale IHSR-2525CZ-5A is designed for multiphase high-current power supplies and filters with a DC internal resistance (DCR) reduction of 50 percent over normal power inductors and excellent inductive saturation stability over the entire operating temperature range compared to ferrite solutions. Automotive engine compartment and Advanced Driver assistance systems (ADAS)

     With frequencies up to 10MHz, this automotive class inductor is particularly suitable for DC/DC converter energy storage, as well as high current filtering below the inductor self-resonant frequency (SRF). The device operates at +155 °C and is suitable for filtering and DC/DC conversion. Applications include engine and transmission control units, ADAS microcontrollers, entertainment/navigation systems, as well as engine noise suppression, wipers, electric mirrors and seats, and heating ventilation fans.

     The typical DC internal resistance of the IHSR-2525CZ-5A is as low as 0.38 mΩ, and the inductance value is 0.056 µH. The IHSR-2525CZ-5A has a higher current density among similar technologies, and the 3 mm height allows for a thinner design. The inductor package adopts 100 % lead-free (Pb) shielding composite structure, which reduces the buzzing noise to an ultra-low level. It has high thermal shock resistance, moisture resistance and mechanical vibration resistance, and can handle high transient current peaks without saturation. Devices comply with RoHS and Vishay green standards and are halogen-free.
