The Texas Instruments TLV3604/TLV3605 High Speed Orbit-to-orbit comparator is an 800ps high speed comparator with a wide power range, track-to-track inputs, and a very high 1.5GHz switching frequency. With an operating voltage range of 2.4V to 5.5V, all of these features come in an industry-standard small package, making the device an excellent choice for liDAR, differential line receiver applications, and test and measurement systems.
Both TLV3604/TLV3605 have very strong input overload performance of 450ps and narrow pulse width capability of only 600ns. Due to the input overdrive and the ability to detect narrow pulses, this combination of low variation propagation delay makes these devices an excellent choice for time of flight (ToF) applications, such as in factory automation and drone vision.
LVDS (low voltage - differential-signal) output from Texas Instruments TLV3604/TLV3605 helps improve data throughput and optimize power consumption. Complementary outputs help reduce electromagnetic interference by suppressing common mode noise on each output. LVDS outputs are designed to drive and connect directly to other devices that accept standard LVDS inputs, such as most FPGas and cpus in an application.
The TLV3604 comes in a miniature 6-pin SC-70 package, which makes it easier for space-sensitive applications such as optical sensor modules. The TLV3605 maintains the same performance as the TLV3604, and also offers adjustable lag control, shutdown, and latching features in the 12-pin QFN package. These features make it an excellent choice for test and measurement applications.
