The A80606 is a multi-output LED driver for automotive applications such as exterior lighting, head-up display and mid-sized LCD backlight. It implements a current-mode boost/SEPIC converter with a gate driver for an external n-channel MOSFET. The A80606 offers six integrated current receivers with current up to 180 mA per string. Multiple receivers can be connected in parallel to achieve higher LED currents up to 1.08A. IC from 4.5 to 40 V single power supply; Once started, it can continue to work up to 4v.

     This enables it to withstand stop/start, cold crank and load dump situations encountered by automotive systems. The A80606 can control LED brightness through external PWM signal. By using the patented Pre-Emptive Boost control, a 15,000:1 LED brightness contrast can be achieved with PWM dimming at 200 Hz. When using a combination of PWM and analog dimming, a higher ratio of 150,000 to 1 can be achieved
