The digital power monitor comes with a 16-bit Delta Sigma ADC designed for current sensing applications

     Texas Instruments INA237/ INA237-Q1 Current/Voltage/Power Monitor is an ultra-precision digital power monitor featuring a 16-bit Delta-Sigma (delta sigma) ADC designed specifically for current sensing applications. The device can measure a full range differential input of ±163.84mV or ±40.96mV via resistive shunt sensing elements with common-mode voltage support from -0.3V to +85V. The INA237/ INA237-Q1 reports the current, bus voltage, temperature, and power while performing the required calculations in the background. Integrated temperature sensor with accuracy of ±1°C is used for mold temperature measurement and for monitoring the ambient temperature of the system.

     The low offset and gain drift design of the Texas Instruments INA237/ INA237-Q1 allows the device to be used in precision systems without multi-temperature calibration during manufacturing. In addition, the extremely low bias voltage and noise allow for use in A to kA sensing applications and provide a wide dynamic range without significant power loss for the sensing shunt element. The device's low input bias current allows the use of larger current-sensing resistance, which provides accurate current measurements in the microamperage range. The device allows selectable ADC conversion times from 50µs to 4.12ms, and sample averaging from 1x to 1024x, which further helps reduce noise in the measured data.
