     Allegro MicroSystems' A17502 is a single IC solution for rotary position sensing of annular magnet targets in automotive and industrial motor applications that typically have specific application and safety requirements. The A17502 is a narrow target pitch, speed and direction sensor IC designed to provide incremental position for asynchronous motors at speeds up to 30k RPM.

     Two independent differential output channels provide high resolution XOR options for speed, pulse and direction protocols. Advanced calibration techniques are used to optimize signal offset and amplitude. This calibration, combined with digital tracking signals, results in accurate switching points in the air gap, velocity and temperature. The A17502, combined with the sensor's 1.1mm narrow target range, provides a reliable and robust solution for electric vehicle (EV) applications.

     The IC can be programmed for a variety of applications requiring dual-phase target speed and position signal information or simultaneous high-resolution target speed and orientation information. It can be configured to enable fault detection mode for ASIL B(D) utilization (to be evaluated), providing the high level of performance required by today's motors.
