Renesas's single-chip SiP integrates MCU and pre-drivers for sensorless solutions, saving board space and reducing system costs

     The RAJ306001 and RAJ306010 are general-purpose motor control ics for three-phase brushless DC motor applications. The RAJ306001 and RAJ306010 combine the MCU(RL78/G1F) and the pre-driver in a single package. Pre-drive includes half-bridge gate drive, 5V voltage regulator, current sensing amplifier, Hall IC comparator, backpotential amplifier and various protection features (over temperature, over/under voltage, over current and motor lock detection).

     The three half-bridge gate drivers provide high efficiency and flexibility with adjustable gate drive peak current (500mA), self-aligning dead-time generator, optional gate drive voltage and control signal configuration features. Self-aligning dead-time generators prevent short-circuit currents and provide a safe evaluation environment. The MCU supports the H/W of the IEC60730 security standard. The RL78 family of development tools is available. The integrated circuit can realize the motor control and performance suitable for various applications by optimizing the F/W structure and register setting.
