Thales DIS and Taoglas Ltd. are helping to kick-start the iot project by combining their products into an easy-to-use Cinterion iot Gateway Starter kit. The suite provides out-of-the-box iot connectivity, allowing for quick and easy setup for evaluation and prototyping of cellular iot applications using 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and LPWAN networks, including LTE Cat. M1, the cat. NB1, cat. NB2. The Starter Kit allows users to quickly develop proof-of-concept applications and test prototypes in both lab and real-world environments. In addition to providing cellular functionality, the suite provides a variety of control functions using the standard AT command interface. External peripherals such as sensors, actuators, or additional interfaces to external applications are easily connected via 8 and 12 pins.

     Thales' Gateway Starter Suite is supported by Taoglas Limited's terminal mounted monopole antenna, providing fast, reliable connectivity for 5G/4G/3G and 2G networks. The antenna is backward compatible for agile and seamless integration with any Cinterion iot gateway. The 90° articulated SMA connector provides an omnidirectional antenna that can be rotated to any preferred direction, which helps avoid other antennas or objects. When used in multiple input Multiple output (MIMO) systems, or when other antennas are present on the same device, this also helps to achieve isolation by pointing the antennas in different directions.

     Iot gateways and antennas deliver strong signals, high efficiency and peak gain across all major cellular bands globally, achieving best-in-class throughput. Thales' Cinterion iot gateway is used to enable and support a wide variety of iot applications, including industrial iot, connected enterprise, smart metering, agriculture, healthcare, vending machines and smart homes. The Thales Starter kit comes with a global power supply and flexible industrial interface. Each package contains a Cinterion iot gateway with a compatible Taoglas Limited antenna and all the accessories needed to launch the project.
