SCHURTER provides VDE and UL certification for its SMD fuses with a 1500a circuit breaker capability

SCHURTER's UMT-H series SMD ceramic fuses have time-delay characteristics and provide 26 current ratings from 160 mA to 50 A at voltages up to 277 V(AC) and 250 V(DC). Delay fuses provide overcurrent and short circuit protection in a variety of industrial control applications, including intrinsic safety applications.

The UMT-H family has evolved to include higher current grades to meet new markets for secondary protection in battery-powered applications. Applications range from electrical machines to emerging applications such as those that rely on energy, data, medical, industrial control and automotive. It is also impermeable to conformal coatings, making it a good candidate for use in hazardous environments with ATEx and IECEx rated equipment.

The UMT-H has 26 current ratings at 277 V(AC) and 250 V(DC) voltages between 160 mA and 50 a. The UMT-H has a size of 5.3 mm by 16 mm, which is a smaller alternative to the traditional 5 mm by 20 mm cylindrical box fuse. The smaller footprint saves valuable board space, allowing for further reduction in device size. Because of its square design, UMT-H is also suitable for more cost-effective automated assembly. High-breaking capacity fuses are designed according to IEC 60127-7 and UL 248-14, and carry VDE, up to 16 A, and cURus across the range. IEC, MIL-STD 202 and AEC-Q200 tests are applicable.
