     Texas Instruments TLC6983 LED display driver is a highly integrated common cathode matrix LED display driver with 48 constant current sources and 16 scanning FETs. It also realizes LED on/weak short/short detection and removal during operation, and can report this information to the corresponding digital processor. A single TLC6983 can drive 16 ×  16 RGB LED pixels. Stacking two tlc6983 can drive 32 ×  32 RGB LED pixels.

     In order to achieve low power consumption, the device supports the separate power supply of red, green and blue led through its common cathode structure. In addition, the ultra-low operating voltage range (V (CC) drops to 2.5V) and ultra-low operating current (I (CC) drops to 3.9mA) of the TLC6983 significantly reduce the working power of the TLC6983. At the same time, the high-speed bilateral transmission interface is also realized, which supports high device count and high refresh rate, while minimizing electromagnetic interference (EMI). The device supports 25MHz SCLK (external) and 160MHz GCLK (internal).

     At the same time, the device integrates enhancement circuits and intelligent algorithms to solve various display challenges in narrow pixel pitch (NPP) LED display applications and mini/micro LED products. This driver can darken the first scan line, shadow up and down, uneven low grayscale, coupling, and caterpillars caused by open or short leds. These features make TLC6983 a perfect choice for these applications.
