Stackpole Electronics, Inc. 's CSSK is a metal alloy chip resistor designed to minimize the impact of lead resistance in current sensing applications. The CSSK has terminals on the long dimensions of the part to facilitate more efficient thermal current flow. In addition, the four-terminal asymmetric connection eliminates the influence of lead resistance and improves the sensing accuracy. The CSSK provides resistance values from 0.5 mm to 5 mm in 1%, 2%, and 5% tolerance. With an operating temperature range of up to +170°C, the rugged CSSK can withstand the high temperatures typically associated with high-current circuits.

     CSSK is ideal for current sensing applications such as test meters, scanners, shunt resistors, DC-to-DC converters, voltage regulators, instrumentation, communications and network equipment, medical monitoring equipment, electronic scales, sensing and detection applications, portable audio equipment and robotics. They are also frequently selected for lighting control applications, disk drive controllers, thermostats, small motor controls, safety and security equipment, and commercial and road lighting.
