Power Integrations introduces the newly upgraded LInkSwitch-TN2 IC that increases output current in home appliance applications by 60%

The LinkSwitch TN2 switching power supply IC product series, which is popular in PI, has now added new members. It can increase the output current from 360mA to 575mA without changing the pin configuration, enabling design engineers to easily upgrade the output power of household appliances and industrial applications.

Compared with the previous solution, it is possible to create a high current step-down converter with the least number of commercially available components while saving at least one diode. The new device LNK3207 can also make the power efficiency exceed 80% and the no-load power consumption is less than 30mW.

The new IC is mainly used for household appliances such as washing machines, dryers and coffee machines, which will benefit from their simple design. It is also suitable for sensor based low-power applications, such as home safety cameras, intelligent thermostats, meters, and Internet of Things devices.

The new reference design kit RDK-912 is now available for ordering. This 6.6W non isolated buck converter supports 85-265VAC input and 12V, 550mA output, and uses as few components as possible.
