Littelfuse Corporation announced the launch of the industry's first 1000Vdc rated automotive fuse product, the new EV1K series fuse. The product has been carefully designed and tested to meet the overcurrent circuit protection needs of the electric mobility market, especially for electric vehicle (EV) applications.

     Juergen Scheele, vice president of business development of Littelfuse xEV/AEB, said: "With the transition of the electric travel market from 500 Vdc to 800 Vdc battery pack voltage, the industry clearly needs a more powerful and robust security protection solution. The EV1K series fuses are designed to withstand harsh automotive applications, providing a 1000 Vdc rated voltage vehicle level solution with 60 A to 125 A amperage. The company is also developing fuse products with up to 600 A amperage."
