Diodes offer many types of synchronous step-down converters to automobile specifications. The AP6320xQ and AP6330xQ units are rated at 2A and 3A respectively and support a wide input voltage range from 3.8V to 32V. Suitable for automotive point-of-load (PoL) product applications, including powertrains, electronic dashboards, telematics and infotainment systems. It also improves the performance of automotive body electronics and lighting, as well as advanced Driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The AP6320xQ device integrates 125/68m Ω high/low side power MOSFETs, and the AP6330xQ device integrates 70/40m Ω high/low side power MOSFETs. Both can provide efficient buck DC-DC conversion, while maintaining the minimum number of external components. Peak current mode control and integrated loop compensation network are used to simplify deployment.

The exclusive gate driver used in these buck converters can reduce the ringing effect of switching nodes without prolonging the opening and closing time of MOSFETs. In this way, the high-frequency radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise usually associated with switching MOSFETs can be significantly reduced.

The combination of AP63200Q, AP63203Q, AP63205Q and AP63300Q devices helps to mitigate the frequency spread spectrum (FSS) function of EMI. In addition, the pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode can greatly improve the light load efficiency level. Its static current (IQ) is 22 μ A (typical value), which is almost half of that of most competitors. This helps to improve the level of conversion efficiency under light load conditions.

AP63200Q, AP63201Q, AP63300Q and AP63301Q support 500kHz switching frequency. The AP63203Q and AP63205Q support 1100kHz, and their faster switching frequency can use smaller matching inductance and capacitor components, thus saving more circuit board space and comprehensively reducing the bill of materials (BOM) cost.

The AP6320xQ and AP6330xQ step-down converter series adopt compact TSOT26 package, and the operating temperature range is - 40 ° C to+125 ° C. Undervoltage lockout (UVLO), output overvoltage protection (OVP), thermal shutdown and other mechanisms are provided to ensure continuous and stable operation. AP6320xQ and AP6330xQ comply with AEC-Q100 Level I standard, support PPAP, and are manufactured in IATF 16949 certified facilities.
