     Featuring high energy efficiency synchronous transformation topology, STPD01 synchronous step-down DC/DC converter with digital programming features is suitable for USB Power Delivery (PD) applications with maximum power of 60W

     The STPD01's input voltage range is 6V to 26.4V, and the wide voltage input gives customers the flexibility to develop AC multi-port power adapters, USB hubs, PC monitors and smart TVS. The output voltage can be set through the I2C interface. The voltage adjustment range is 3V to 20V, and the minimum voltage adjustment range is 20mV, which meets the requirements of PD technical specifications. The device integrates a line voltage drop compensation circuit and an internal voltage feedback resistance divider to ensure that the load receives the correct voltage, avoiding power losses in the copper trace and output power lines that affect voltage.

     STPD01 has over voltage, over current and over heat protection. Other built-in features include an embedded discharge circuit, soft start, undervoltage lock and programmable watchdog timer to ensure robust and safe operation of the system.

     STMicroelectronics also introduced the STEVAL-2STPD01 USB Type-C Power Delivery dual-port adapter development Kit to accelerate the development schedule of STPD01-based solutions. As an extension board for the NUCLEO-G071RB STM32 Nucleo-64 development board, the STEVAL-2STPD01 board contains two Type-C ports and two STPD01 programmable step-down converters. There are also two on-board TCPP02-M18 protection chips for USB Type-C and PD Source electrical security. The associated package, STSW-2STPD01, contains a sample software that runs on the STM32G07 microcontroller. The STEVAL-2STPD01 kit is now available on ST's eStore, stmicroelectronics' online store.
