Dialog Semiconductor Company Launches Audio Codec Series with Breakthrough Active Noise Reduction Performance

     Dialog Semiconductor announced the introduction of the highly integrated audio codec chip DA740x with the best active noise reduction (ANC) performance in the industry, providing the fastest growing wireless headset market with the best audio performance that is not affected by any environment.

     The global wireless headset market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 20%, and will generate revenue of about 34 billion dollars by 2024. With active noise reduction rapidly becoming the actual standard, Dialog is expected to occupy an important market share with the DA740x product series.

     The DA740x series supports feedforward and feedback active noise reduction topologies, where the noise reduction microphone is located outside or inside the headphone cavity. With its integrated custom filtering function, the DA740x also supports full hybrid mode, combining the best advantages of the two fields to provide high-performance active noise reduction, the best audio quality and the longest battery life. The chip family is independent of the audio interface type, which means it can be used in both wired and wireless applications.

     Compared with typical analog based design, the digital implementation of DA740x and software based supplementary tuning tools help Dialog customers achieve active noise reduction design with fewer external components, and speed up product launch. However, analog based design requires a large number of analog circuits and component level tuning.
